#7 As a survivor of sexual assault, I think it especially important to support organizations that help people who are victims of sexual violence. Fortunately my husband agrees wholeheartedly. Did you know that sexual assault victims have to surrender their clothing for DNA evidence? This means that in most cases the victim is further traumatized by having to wear a hospital gown home. The Grateful Garment Project provides new clothing, food, grooming supplies and other resources to the Sexual Assault Service Providers in the state of California. They need both financial and clothing donations.
Actions you can take: Make a donation to an organization that supports sexual assault victims, find out if the victims in your area are given clothing to wear home – if not, contact The Grateful Garment Project and see if they will help you start a program in your area.
