#25 Support the ACLU

#25  (For Sunday, December 4th) I’ve heard of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) my whole life. I had a general idea of what they did. Not until this election did I feel the need to KNOW what they do. To read their mission statement. To understand who they protect. To understand what they believe in. Well, it’s really quite simple. They believe in our Constitution and our Bill of Rights.”Rich or poor, straight or gay, black or white or brown, urban or rural, pious or atheist, American-born or foreign-born, able-bodied or living with a disability. Every person in this country should have the same basic rights. And since our founding in 1920, we’ve been working hard to make sure no one takes them away.” That works for me. So today, and in the future, I’ll be sure to learn more about their actions and make donations.

Action you can take: Learn more about the organizations in the news. Decide which organizations you can ignore, which you need to protest and which you need to support.
